i) Electrical installation work will comply with BS7671:2008 and any amendments in force at the time of the works.
ii) All electrical installation work will comply with applicable Building Regulations in force at the time of the works.
iii) Where work is to extend or modify existing circuits, estimated costs assume existing circuits are safe and in adequate condition. Any works required to bring these circuits up to standard will be at additional cost.
iv) Where carpet or floor coverings require lifting, best endeavours will be made to avoid damage and to refit to an acceptable standard. However, employing a specialist fitter may be prudent, to effect a fully satisfactory reinstatement.
v) Chases to walls, etc will be left un-filled. Final finishing of skim coat plaster and final decoration is excluded unless otherwise stated in the quotation.
vi) Where it is necessary to lift floor boards, best endeavours will be made to refit and secure.
vii) We will endeavour to undertake installation work to a clean standard. However, some additional vacuuming and cleaning down of surfaces should be expected afterwards. Any equipment susceptible to damage from dust (eg video or computer equipment) must be removed from the work area prior to arrival.
New Consumer Unit
i) Installation of new consumer units (fuse board) is subject to the whole installation being tested to ensure it is safe to be connected to a new consumer unit. This is a legal requirement under Part P Building Regulations. The basic cost for this is included in the installation cost.
ii) Any faults found during the above testing which are deemed unsafe, must be rectified prior to that circuit being reconnected to any new consumer unit. Any costs for such work are not included. Such issues will be brought to the clients attention as soon as is practical during works.
iii) In particular it may be necessary to install new main services bonding to water, gas or oil supplies. This is especially common on properties built during or prior to the early 1970s and again these are at additional cost unless agreed otherwise beforehand.
i) Clearing and / or moving of furniture and other items blocking access to work areas are not included.
ii) Except where detailed, builders work (creating of holes larger than 50mm diameter, creating of support structures, etc) are not included.
iii) Re-decoration and final making good is excluded from quoted costs, unless specifically detailed as included.
iv) Removal from site and disposal of rubble, fittings, wiring, materials, general waste and packaging is not included.
i) Estimated costs assume continuous and unhindered access to the site by prior arrangement with the client.
ii) Unless stated otherwise, the costs quoted assume standard working hours between 08:30hrs – 18:30hrs Monday to Friday inclusive. Work required by the client outside these hours may attract premium rates.
iii) Estimates are valid for 30 days from the date of the quote.
iv) All quotation and estimates are subject to revision if there are any changes to the nature or extent of the requested work. This may apply to both labour and materials. However the quotation will not be amended without your consent.
v) We reserves the right to amend any accidental error or omission without liability.
Cancellations, delays or major amendments:
i) In the event that you would like to cancel or amend your electrical works, it is your responsibility to notify All Safe Electrics verbally at least 24 hours before work commences.
ii) All Safe Electric reserves the right to impose a minimum call out charge of £55.00 per contractor, plus any non-refundable goods if a minimum of 24 hours verbal notice is not given.
iii) We will confirm any charges upon confirmation of cancellation.
Risk and Title of Goods:
i) The risk in all goods supplied shall pass to the Client upon delivery.
ii) All goods supplied shall remain our property until all sums due have been paid in full.
i) If you are not wholly satisfied with the works then you should give notice in writing within 48 hours to give our insures, the opportunity of both inspecting such work and allowing any remedial work to be carried out.
ii) We will treat all complaints with urgency and in a discreet manner. All complaints will be logged for future reference and we will strive to keep you updated and informed throughout the whole procedure.
i) We warrant our installation work to be defect free for a period of six months from the invoice date.
ii) All general materials such as switches, sockets, lighting pendants and other domestic face plate accessories usually carry a manufacturer’s guarantee which in some cases could be as short as 3 months.
iii) Cover does not extend to goods supplied by others, physical damage, willful misuse or instances where the installation has been altered or tampered with by you or third parties. The warranty also excludes fair wear and tear, lamps, fuses or other consumables.
iv) Where projects involve works by third party trades, any damage to the electrical installation by third parties shall remain your responsibility. Any rectification costs must be paid by you prior to commencement of second fix. Recovery of such costs from any third party shall be the your responsibility.
v) Security alarms will be fitted with tamper seal on main panel. All warranty is void if this is broken. Request of engineer code will also void any warranty
vi) If you ask us to visit you for a fault which is not covered by this warranty or is subsequently found to be due to user error, user damage or because of something that you have done to cause the problem, our standard charges will be applied.
i) Unless agreed in writing, payment in full should be made on completion of the specified works. Advance payment is required prior to testing & inspection services.
ii) Larger projects may require deposit before work, as stated in an estimate (if applicable)
iii) Where projects involve separate first and second fix works, part payment may be due on completion of first fix (see estimate for more details)
iv) Payment is accepted by cash , cheque or bank transfer.
v) In the event of any non payment we reserve the right to withhold any certificates for work carried out until such payments are made.
(vi) Payment for Test and Inspection is required on completion before any report or certificate is issued.
All Safe Electric Ltd terms and conditions applicable to test and Inspection Electrical Installation Condition Reports
These terms and conditions apply to are supplementary to All Safe Electric Ltd standard terms and conditions.
An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) tests the fixed wiring, distribution board, fuse boards, sockets, lights witches and any other item permanently connected to the fixed wiring system.
The EICR does not test appliances such as washing machines, central heating boilers, cooker hoods, ovens and other ‘white goods’ that may be plugged into the fixed wiring or connected via a Fuse Connection Unit (FCU). The EICR only relates to tests up to and including the socket or FCU and not the appliance to which they are attached.
A Portable Appliance Test (PAT) may be appropriate for some white goods, but this test does not form part of an EICR
Testing and Inspection specific
i) Test and Inspection services are those including test as detailed in BS7671 GN3 and Portable Appliance testing.
ii) Test results and measurements are deemed to be valid on the day of testing.
iii) The scope of testing and inspection will be agreed prior to commencement of tests. This may require a site survey before testing commences at extra cost.
iv) Where free access to circuits, fixtures and equipment is not possible, the Limitation of inspection & test of such items will be made known. Heavy furniture such as book cases and wardrobes and appliances such as washing machines will not be moved to gain access to plugs or sockets. Built in kitchen furniture will not be tampered with. Any such operational Limitation will be made known on the report.
v) All Safe Electric will not be held liable for inspecting or testing any circuits, fixtures or equipment not made known to All Safe Electric and agreed upon in the scope of testing iii) above.
(vi) All Safe Electric will not inspect and test loft spaces or fittings over 2.3 meter above floor level unless specifically agreed prior to testing.
(vii) Operational limitations will be made known on the test certificate. An Operational limitation may include insufficient time to complete parts of inspection and test for the sum quoted or estimated.
(viii) All Safe Electric Ltd is not liable for any faults found. Remedial action maybe recommended but the customer is under no obligation to accept recommendations.
(ix) The EICR is for test and inspection only and does not include fault finding. Where a fault cannot be easily located within a few minutes on a circuit, testing will stop on the circuit and an estimate will be given as to the time likely required to find the fault.
(x) R1+R2 dead readings or Zs live testing are taken on circuits. Where R1+R2 readings are taken a calculated Zs reading will be recorded. Likewise, where a Zs reading is taken a calculated R1+R2 reading may be recorded. Dead readings are preferred over live measurements in line with current electrical safety laws and HSE recommendations
Both R1+R2 tests and live Zs tests are taken on socket circuits
(xi) Insulation resistance may be taken between Live + Neutral and Earth to avoid damage to sensitive equipment such as dimmer switches, neon indicators. Insulation resistance will be conducted at 250v, then at 500v and recorded if surge arrestors permit.
